All Profoto softboxes feature a recessed front that allows you to attach a grid. The grid narrows the light beam to 50°. In other words, it creates a more focused light and eliminates much of the peripheral spill, giving you greater precision in shaping the light. By narrowing the light beam, a grid can enhance contrast in your images, resulting in a more dramatic and nuanced look. This is especially useful for preventing light spill from illuminating the background or nearby areas.
